In 1956 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bobbie Christopher had the vision to make quality clothes for women. It was named Braun`s Fashions and was originally a women’s clothing store.
In 1973, Bobbie’s daughter Pamela Christopher renamed the business and it became what we know today as Christopher and Banks (C&B). What separates C&B from any other clothing retailer is their clothing taste level is one of the most upscale in department stores.
In 2000 Christopher and Banks opened their first store outside of Minnesota. Since then they have spread across the United States and remain to be one of the top companies in women’s clothing.
In 2004 they acquired Acorn Store, a fashion-forward women’s retailer in San Francisco. In May 2010 they made their debut on the NASDAQ stock market, trading under the ticker symbol CAB.
